On Friday the workers at Burberry's Treorchy factory held a rally outside the factory gates, organised by the GMB. We would have posted this footage earlier but there were some technical problems with Google.

Visitors to the Assembly

I have enjoyed welcoming many visitors from the Rhondda to the National Assembly. We heard the other day that there have now been 250,000 visitors here. This video shows some of the Rhondda visitors.

Tyrone O'Sullivan

Tyrone O'Sullivan, Chairman of Tower Colliery, came to the Rhondda at the weekend to take part in a seminar on energy policy.

Burberry Factory

Ten days ago Burberry announced that they were to close their factory in Treorchy, resulting in the loss of 300 jobs. I am campaigning with the GMB, the local MP Chris Bryant and local councillors to keep the factory open.  The video has interviews with amongst others GMB full-time official Mervyn Burnett, and GMB Burberry branch secretary John Harris.
